The Race for the Finals Heats Up in Valencia

October 31, 2011

Wow, at the ATP stop in Valencia, you have a crucial match in the race for London right off the bat.

Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer are facing off against Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski. Fyrstenberg and Matkowski are holding on to the eighth spot with Butorac and Rojer right behind them.

Butorac and Rojer lost some crucial points by not defending their title in Stockholm a couple of weeks ago. The Poles have been playing pretty solid of late, coming off back-to-back semifinal appearances at their most recent tour stops.

Fyrstenberg and Matkowski always seem to be battling to get in the year-end championships toward the end of the season, while Butorac and Rojer are going for their debut appearance.

It’s hard to predict which will win over in this matchup, eagerness or experience. Regardless, it should be an entertaining match, worthy of a final at some tour stops.
