Everyone Is All Set for London

November 11, 2011

Now that was some round-of-16 match in Paris yesterday with Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer taking on Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic!

Butorac and Rojer had to win that match to stay in contention for a spot at the ATP World Tour finals: Lose and the eighth slot goes to Marcin Matkowski and Mariusz Fyrstenberg. Well, lose Butorac and Rojer did, but not without putting on the fight of the tournament. Their season came down to a match tiebreak and they were close to getting run off the court in it. However, the pair fought on and on before falling 14-12.

So now the field is set for the finals in London with the Poles making it with some help from their peers. Fyrstenberg and Matkowski are no strangers to the event and can do some damage indoors. Llodra and Zimonjic will always be a factor, and the fast conditions at the venue should suit all of the teams going. Hopefully some of the drama captured in that pairing’s match yesterday will be on display at the O2 Arena.
